British actor and award-winning voice artist, he grew up in Wales and trained at the Webber Douglas Academy and London University Goldsmiths College. He has worked in the UK, South Africa, and internationally. Best known in the UK as Eddie in the award-winning musical Blood Brothers on the first UK National Tour and in London’s West End, performing opposite David Cassidy, Helen Reddy, Stefan Dennis, Clodagh Rodgers, Denise and Bernie Nolan, Lyn Paul, among many others.

In South Africa, Tom played the leading role of Detective Gavin Archer in ETV’s popular series Gold Diggers and has played impactful leading roles in Scandal, Isidingo, and 7de Laan, as well as dozens of recurring roles across popular South African drama series and soaps. 

He has over played in over 40 International Feature Film and TV productions , working alongside Hilary Swank, Lee Pace, Ben Schnetzer, Rhona Mitra among many others.  He has played leading roles in a handful of independent films, most recently the ation film LOST HORIZON, now streaming on global platforms.

He has worked extensively in improvisation and physical theatre with the creators of Theatre of L’Ange Fou in Paris, and with Theatre Works, a musical improvisation group of West End performers, culminating in the role of narrator in Andrew Macbean’s original West End musical production of Tom Waits’ Rain Dogs. He was also part of Joe Parker’s comedy improvisation team, leading workshops in improvisation and performing with many of South Africa’s leading comedians, as well as working as a stand-up comic.

Tom has trained extensively with professionals in martial arts, unarmed combat styles, and weapons handling, and holds a handgun proficiency certificate.

He has played the title roles in Shakespeare’s Much Ado About Nothing, Romeo and Juliet, The Taming of the Shrew, and Hamlet, among numerous other theatre productions over a decade in repertory theatre and on tour throughout the UK. In South Africa, he played Jake in the acclaimed two-hander comedy Stones in His Pockets, and the title role of Jerry in Pinter’s Betrayal at the Sandton Theatre on the Square in Johannesburg.

He set up and ran a successful actors’ agency, implementing more efficient payment and marketing methods while training new talent in the South African voice industry. He was resident writer on the ETV youth soap Backstage and wrote for the absurdist comedy series On the Couch, which aired on SABC3 from 2008–2012. He created the comedy pilot and series Space Africa, which garnered interest from various production companies and SA broadcaster M-Net, though it did not receive a green light.

He wrote and produced the short film A Soldier’s Story on the Falklands, which received special selection at the Palm Springs Festival in 2001 and was later picked up for broadcast by BBC Wales. He also wrote, produced, and presented Making Movies for Channel 4 — a review of the original Raindance Festival in the 1990s. He currently works alongside independent film makers as a writer-producer. His latest completed script, based around the paranormal, is also titled The Pandora Effect.
